Our Why?

In 2017 & 2018, we had the opportunity to share our yoga teaching with children in remote communities in Northern Alberta as resident yoga teachers for one week. We witnessed how impactful yoga was for children and it was through these experiences we saw firsthand that there was a lack of opportunity for children who live in remote areas to access quality yoga programs. We wanted to create a tool that would allow yoga to be accessible to all children regardless of whether they have access to yoga classes or not. This is where our journey began.

  • Sara fell in love with yoga the first time she rolled out her mat in 2002. She knew instantly that yoga would become a BIG part of her life. Always having a love of working with children it wasn’t until her passion for yoga lead to her completing her adult yoga certification in 2005, her children’s yoga certification with YogaKids International in 2009, and meditation training for adults, children and teens with Lifestyle Meditation in 2015. Sara teaches yoga full time in various yoga studios, school, and community programs in and around Edmonton AB. Sara’s greatest passion besides her two children and spouse is to bring yoga to students in remote communities and hopes these cards will support this vision.

  • Sheryl is a mom to 2 amazingly athletic children and an Educational Assistant in a Catholic school. She knows first hand the benefits that yoga can have on students in the classroom. She was introduced to the idea of using yoga as a tool for regulation with one of her students with complex needs. She continues to share the many benefits of yoga to students in Kindergarten to grade 8. Sheryl completed her training with YogaKids in 2017, Lifestyle Meditation for Children and Teens in 2017, CHI Kids 2018 and will complete her adult certification with a speciality in trauma informed yoga with YogaFit in 2020. Sheryl lives and teaches yoga in Richmond BC.

  • Shauna found her love of yoga when her nights and weekends were no longer busy with her son’s hockey games. As a busy mom to two amazing boys her yoga mat became her space to move, breath, and felt her stress melt away in her favourite hot yoga class. When her boys went off to university and her nest was empty Shauna was drawn back to the idea of working with children and wanted to share her love of yoga and mindfulness with children in her community. She took her a children and teens meditation training with Lifestyle Meditation in 2017 and her children’s yoga certification with YogaKids International in 2019. Shauna lives and teaches yoga In Edmonton AB.

What others are saying…

I love the pictures, my favourite is the elephant. I really like that the elephant is holding a flower and the girl has a flower on her shirt too. These yoga cards make me feel happy and calm. And I like that I can use them to do yoga by myself

Mona, Educational Assistant

My daughter and I were looking at your yoga cards, they are fantastic. Quality of the cards is great, wonderful illustrations and the instructions on the back are simple for kids to manage! Well done!

Judy, Primary School Teacher

As an occupational therapist, I have used many movement cards. What I love about these cards are the simple-to-follow instructions and the clear illustrations. Also, the fact that they are double-sided leaves an opportunity for the child to be imaginative and create their own movements.
